Will Arnett Shaves $3M Off Beverly Hills Home

Comedian Will Arnett puts his home back on the market but $3 million cheaper. 

The Beverly Hills home was originally put on the market last year for $11 million. Now, if you have $8 million, you can own the house that the Arrested Development star helped designed.

The home is barely four years old. Arnett bought the property in 2015 and spent $2.86 million to build it. 

Using prefab components, the home was finished in 2017. According to Realtor, the home was custom-built for the actor and has a set of six modules within a compound. 

Arnett also had a hand in the design for the prefab hybrid. 

Award-winning house

The 51-year-old’s glass-and-steel house won an architecture award from the L.A. Business Council in 2018, the L.A. Times reported. 

The house was also featured in Dwell magazine. 

The two-storey home is 4,000 square feet in a gated property. The structure has multiple patios and a large outdoor space. 

It has five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

The house also features many glass walls so residents could have a clear view of the lush trees surrounding the property.

There’s a lot of glass in the house including a glass staircase. 

The other rooms in the house include a kitchen with built-in seating area. It is also linked to the dining room. There’s also a gym, a den, and an office. 

The office can be converted into a guest room, too. 

The master suite is on the second floor and it has its own private deck. 

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Beverly Homes without a pool and sauna. There’s also a cold plunge and an outdoor fireplace. 

One can also have a great view of the canyon while at the Arnett residence. 

It may have been a large house but it was a bachelor’s pad for Arnett, who divorced from the more popular Amy Poehler in 2016. However, they have been separated since 2012 after being married for close to 10 years. 

Prefab homes

Arnett’s home shows a different side to prefab homes, although, you also have to consider that Arnett is a millionaire. 

The actor, whose projects include BoJack Horseman, Blades of Glory, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, among others, is worth $25 million. 

His house is technically a prefab hybrid. 

Prefab homes are actually Los Angeles’ answer to homelessness. 

Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, along with the City of Los Angeles, launched the Alexandria Park Tiny Home Village, comprising small prefab homes, just a short drive away from the famous Hollywood sign. 

There are over 100 prefab homes in the area. 

Prefab homes are generally cost-efficient. They are environmentally friendly, too. It’s also really fast to build since it’s mostly just putting components together. 
There is a growing market for prefab homes especially with the expensive US housing market. Los Angeles homes are also considered the most expensive in the world.
